A.J. Kennedy House

When this house was built in 1878 in Placerville, California, it was one of the largest in town. It was deemed “a mansion” when the Mountain Democrat wrote about its construction that year.

Businessman Andrew Jackson Kennedy and his wife, Liz Coleman Kennedy, had the house built as well as a large office building downtown.

A banker, he also served as a deputy collector for Internal Revenue.
