Captain Thomas Thompson House

Ok, y’all. Talk about a valuable historic home! This New England seacoast home was built in 1784 for Capt. Thomas Thompson, one of the first naval officers commissioned by the Continental Congress.

Thompson commanded the USS Frigate Raleigh, which is pictured on the NH state seal.

Located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the home sold last summer for a whopping $4.65 million dollars.

According to the real estate listing, it has six bedrooms, five full and two half baths, 7200+ square feet and a 1500 SF carriage house — all on nearly one acre of land.

Corporate meetings, nonprofit philanthropic initiatives and political gatherings have taken place in the parlor. National and local politicians, well-known film and theatre personalities and international dignitaries have been guests of honor at these events. Historic neighboring properties include the Governor John Langdon House and Strawberry Banke.
