While the house next door is an exquisite and brightly-colored Painted Lady with a bit of crazy history, this exceptional, California Queen Anne makes a stately impact as a part of Sacramento’s Register of Historic and Cultural Resources.

It was built in 1893 for M.K. Barrett, an officer at Sacramento Savings Bank. With fabulous stained glass windows, a corner tower and elaborate details all around, it’s such a treat for the eyes. It sits on a street packed with gorgeous Queen Anne, Italianate and early 20th-Century houses.
