Hattie’s House

OK, so we don’t know what this house is really called, if anything at all. But based on the little info we were able to gather, we’re going to call it Hattie’s House for a longtime resident.

Built in 1879, this Sacramento, California, house was home to Mr. and Mrs. John E.F. Pike, and their daughter Hattie, according to the 1902 Sacramento Blue Book.

Doesn’t my fur compliment this house?

It appears Hattie lived here after she got married. She was still listed as a resident, along with her husband, Clemont Brokaw, in the 1940 U.S. Census. The couple were the same age, both born in 1879. Hattie lived to be 74, while Clemont lived to be 90.

With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, it has more than 4,000 square feet and is listed on the Sacramento Register of Historic Places and Cultural Resources.

But more than that, it’s got lots of detail and charm — and, it totally goes with my fur, doesn’t it?
