Built in 1883, the S. Curtis Smith House is one of the most magnificent Queen Anne Victorian houses in Newton, Mass.

It is named for Smith, a teacher at English High School in Boston, who lived here in 1895. He and most of his neighbors — the majority of which were in the manufacturing business — commuted into Boston.

The 7 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is 3,300+ square feet, and last sold for $210,000 in 1982. It is valued at almost $1.7 million, according to assessor database records.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
