So, there’s some early owner mystery to this amazing Italianate in Concord, Mass.

Signage on the house deems it the W.H. Devens House, built in 1878. But when I looked up the physical address on the Massachusetts Cultural Resource Information System, it is listed as the Charles Bartlett house. Both sources agree it was built in 1878.
The house is located on Hubbard Street, one of the first subdivided neighborhoods in the town. The home is one of the finest examples of the towered Italianate villa, a style that has all but vanished from the town. However, there is a twin house to this one located directly across the street.
