Capt. W.H. MacLean House

How much is that doggy in the window? Seriously, the ultimate cuteness happened while we were photographing this house in Alameda, California. The furry black and white resident of this beautiful Queen Anne was quietly observing us from its second story perch.

J.A. Leonard built this house for $3,500 in 1891. He sold it the next year to Capt. MacLean, who operated the S.S. Blas. It carried Chinese passengers from Panama to San Francisco.
