Walter Hoge House

It cost a mere $4,330 to build this Alameda, California Queen Anne in 1890. Designed by architect Charles S. Shaner, the home’s original was Walter Hoge, who was in the real estate business.

Can’t decide what we love more: The turret, the cool diagonal window on the upper left, or the fantastic paint job.

It sold last year for $1.645 million dollars. According to the listing, it holds seven apartment units in its 4,300+ square feet.
