McIntire House

The pioneer McIntire family built this house in Sutter Creek, California, and moved here in the 1850s after almost a decade on Main Street.

Daughter Clara and her first husband, John Keyes, were likely married here in 1859.

The house’s namesake, Edward Bucknam McIntire was among the owners and officers of the Lincoln Mine (nee Union/Amador Quartz Mine 2) in the early 1850s. He was also the first County Superintendent of Schools.
