Freedman and Dora Levinson, likely the first Jewish family to settle in Napa, California, arrived in 1849 and established the Pioneer Clothing Store on Main Street.

After Freedman passed, Dora purchased this lot. Sons Charles and Joseph had this house built in 1905 and lived there with siblings Sara and Clara the rest of their lives.
