Built in 1892 by Eugene E.C. Swift, this house is one of the first you see upon entering Falmouth, Mass.
Eugene was the son of Thomas Lawrence Swift, and grandson of Elijah Swift, who were all prominent and successful Falmouth businessmen.

EEC Swift was in the mercantile business for 15 years and served as postmaster for four years; he also ran a successful livery and delivery service, and the “most extensive real estate business of the town.”
This house built in the decorative Victorian style is indicative of his affluence and the prosperity of the town which supported his livery and real estate businesses.
