The oldest family house in the Beach Hill neighborhood of Santa Cruz, the Eben Bennett house was built in 1871.

He was the owner of Bennett’s lime-kiln near Felton, California. After a blast at the quarry, he went down with several men to assist with the work and was crushed to death by a boulder at the age of 55. He left behind a wife, Mary Elizabeth, and five children.
We had a bunch of comments about this house, but finding out the above info kind of took the wind out of our sails. So we’ll just say, we love that sun porch and call it a day.
Sorry your life ended so tragically, Mr. Bennett.
