John Jenkins House

Built in 1822, this Federal style home is in the darling Cape Cod town of Falmouth, Mass.

It belonged to John Jenkins, the son of Captain Weston Jenkins, who helped protect the town from the British during the War of 1812.

John Jenkins married Harriet Swift, daughter of Elijah Swift, who was known as the Kingpin of Falmouth. He then built this gorgeous house at the head of the Village Green.

His whaling supply shop was located next door, and attracted pretty much every local lad who went to sea. Jenkins was also a financial whiz, serving as president of the Falmouth National Bank for nine years. Jenkins was loved and respected town leader, known for his integrity, resolution, kindness and faithfulness.
