This house in Alameda, Calif., appeared to be vacant and had workers coming in and out for several hours. Since I parked nearby, I stalked it for a bit until I could get a clear shot without a painter coming through.

I only just now noticed that it must have been Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Check out the upper left window for a cutie overseeing the neighborhood.
A.W. Pattiani & Co. designed and built this home for $2,800 in 1890. The original owner was H.P. Moreal, head of H.P. Moreal & Co., real estate and house brokers. We couldn’t find much else about Moreal, other than he advertised his business and houses a LOT in The San Francisco Call newspaper.
