Built in 1886 for James Isom McConnell, this Italianate in Woodland, California, has been well-preserved.

McConnell was principal of Woodland Public Schools early in his career, and later became editor of the Woodland Daily Democrat newspaper.
President Grover Cleveland appointed McConnell Postmaster and he served one term in the state assembly at the turn of the century as well.
McConnell later established the Yolo County Savings Bank.
The house received the city’s Heritage Home award in 2004.
