The first recorded deed of this property in Ipswich, Mass., appeared in 1742, when John Holland sold the property “and the house as it is now finisht standing there” to Daniel Ringe. The Hollands were a seafaring family, and this house was built in 1740.

The half-house style was common in Ipswich, and this one retains its original trim.
