R. J. Hancock and his family were longtime residents of this Auburn, California home, which was built in 1900.

Hancock had a hardware store next door.

He catered to the mining trade, and was clearly a super nice guy: He was known to finance miners who were down on their luck.

It is now home to an alternative wellness center.
