Eustis Estate

Renowned Boston architect William Ralph Emerson designed the Eustis Estate, which was built in 1878 and sits on more than 80 acres of land in Milton, Mass. With all kinds of surrounding trails, gardens and land, it is not only eye candy, but an amazing place to walk dogs and tire out kids.

Built for newlyweds W.E.C. Eustis and Edith Hemenway, the mansion boasts a whopping 18,600 square feet. The Eustises had twin sons and daughter, and the family lived there the rest of their lives. (Can you blame them?)

Two additional generation of Eustises lived at the estate until it was sold to Historic New England in 2012. The family continued to live there until 2014, when Historic New England began an extensive restoration project to create a museum and study center.

It opened to the public in 2017.
